The most important thing for many in the Romsey & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the sense of community. Normally, we share and celebrate all of our successes across the town, but sometimes, we instead must commiserate and help others when something goes wrong.
As many will know, King John's House and Museum was the victim of a severe fire back in February. Nobody was injured in the blaze, but severe structural damage occurred that has resulted in the House being closed until further notice, with artifact recovery and structural inspections still ongoing.
Romsey Chamber became involved in the recovery efforts at King John House when Museum Manager Jade Poulton contacted Chamber Vice President Rita Kohli in the hopes of arranging the hire of a skip from local business and Chamber members Ace Liftaway Ltd. The Managing Director of Ace Liftaway, Philip Liddell, readily agreed to supply King John House with a 6 Yard Skip (The kind typically found on their Lorries) for free.
The help provided by the Chamber and Ace Liftaway has been just one of the many acts of kindness that Romsey and beyond have granted King John House in their time of need.
