And in addition to the direct support available from Romsey Chamber you should remember that you are also affiliated through the Hampshire Chamber and can access their full range of services and activities.
Promoting your Business
Winning Business in a Difficult Economy
In the current economic climate most companies recognise that winning new business is of paramount importance. The Chamber offers three main ways to do this:
- Promoting your business to other members and networking with them to reach further afield
- Promoting your business to the general public and the wider business community
- Developing marketing and sales strategies and implementing them
Business with and through members
Networking is the most cost effective form of marketing there is but it is generally both underused and misused!
Meeting other Chamber members at functions and events builds confidence and trust and since all business is built on these two cornerstones it provides an unrivalled opportunity to build your business.
Use events to get to know fellow members - not to sell to them - and then ask yourself who could benefit from their services. What comes round goes around and pretty soon you will find more customers coming direct or being refered
Promoting your business
There are sections on the website for you to promote your services both to other businesses or to the general public.

Saving money is not a business strategy but it certainly helps the bottom line!
Member Offers
Some Chamber members offer discounts to other members (and there is every reason for you to do so as well) so check the offers pages.

Information
Business Donuts is a website offering a wealth of information and links to support services. You will also find a links to a range of publications available from a variety of sources here. You can also search a grants database from here - and apply for a Business Incentive Grant from our local council if you are thinking of starting a small business.
Services
As affiliated members of Hampshire Chamber you have access to a huge range of support and services, covering such things as training, export assitance and IT at discounted rates.
From other members
There are some members whose business is one of support and advice who will give a certain amount of support free of charge - check out the links. We are also restarting the Forum but restricting access to Chamber members or others with special access. Collectively our members have probably experienced most problems - try posting your problem (anonymously if you wish).
