In these times of financial stringency, promoting sales and finding new customers must be at the front of every business persons mind.
You cannot sell anything unless your customers find you. The Chamber offers you a number of different ways to reach new customers.

There are four places to promote your business:
Member Listing
All members have a listing here. The list is searchable by business activity and by name and is open to all members of the public.
Once you have registered with the site (and had your registration approved) you can add this yourself. We are currently adding all existing members centrally. If you want wish to have your entry ammended just let us know.
Member to Member Offers
You can make specific offers to other Chamber Members. Since the advertising of your business through the site is free it is always worth giving a rebate to other members but as a small community you can be sure that good service to one member will be mentioned to others.
Incidentally this approach does not just apply to companies in B2B sectors. If you trade with the general public, either as a retailer of a tradesman you can reach out to other members employees.
Offers to the Public
There is a section of the website dedicated to offers to the general public. Tell them what is going on - offer something that will entice them to call you or visit you for the first time - or simply remind them that you are still around - it could be the start of a long and profitable relationship.
Specialist Advice
If you have some special areas of expertise that can help other members with a problem or issue beyond their experience you can offer your support through the site. This is not an opportunity for you to pitch for business. Those offering their support should do so as a member of a friendly, collaborative, supportive community. And while providing such help may not win you business in the short term it will certainly raise your profile and improve your long term prospects.

As a member of Romsey Chamber you are also an affiliate member of Hampshire Chamber and can take advantage of many of their services.
Mailshots & E-shots
Promote your business by using the Chamber mailing and e-shot service. An ideal way to reach key decision makers across Hampshire
E-shots can be included in our monthly member to member bulletin for £99 +VAT.
Hampshire monthly mailings can take up to 8 member inserts. You can choose to mail either 1, 2 or 3 areas (Southampton/Portsmouth/North Hampshire)
Costs are £150 + VAT for 1 area, £285 + VAT for 2 areas and £400 + VAT for all 3 areas. Again contact your local office for mailing dates and to book. Inserts need to be delivered to our Southampton office.
Taking local business global
British business has always looked overseas for opportunities and foreign trade is vital to the UK economy. In terms of investment, the UK is second only to the USA as the world’s largest investor in overseas markets.
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, which has three local International Trade Offices, has many close working relationships with overseas Chambers and other trade agencies, and works in partnership with Business Link and UK Trade and Investment (the Government organisation which supports UK companies trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to locate in the UK)
Networking
Networking only works when people in the networking group appreciate that it is not a sales opportunity. It works because people get to know you and understand what you do. They also know many other people and can then pass on your information to others. The only way to make it work for you is to make it work for other people - so
