The Romsey Business Consortium is a Company Limited by Guarantee and trades as
ROMSEY and DISTRICT CHAMBER of COMMERCE and INDUSTRY
Chamber Mission
The Chamber is run by an Executive Committee (elected annually by the membership) which comprises the President, the Vice President, the Treasurer and 10 members who collectively are responsible for the overall strategy and policy of the Chamber.
We have undertaken a reorganisation of the way we operate and the activities of the Chamber are now run by Four Sub-Committees. Currently the positions on these are filled by executive committee members but we would like other Chamber members to join these and contribute to the success of the Chamber
Service Development
Responsible for identifying, developing and outsourcing services that will be of benefit to members.
Some of these services will be provided by external providers, others by Chamber members and the remainder from within our own immediate resources. Currently we have in progress:
- Utility Price Reduction Services
- Discounted Health Insurance
- Improved access to information
And we have several others already planned
Events
Our events fall broadly into three main categories; regular monthly, major events (Chamber Reception, Christmas Lights etc) and special - the one-off events organised for specific reasons.
They have a variety of objectives:
- Get members together in friendly environment to expand ideas, benefit from each others experience - and have fun
- Promote the Chamber and Chamber members
- Provide a means of getting involved with and involving the rest of society
Marketing/PR/Website
If we are to fulfil our objectives we must reach out to and maintain communication with:
- Our members
- Potential members
- Other community organisations
- The general public
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
There is an increasing awareness that it is important it is important for society as a whole that the corporate sector always bears in mind the impact it has on society. All to often organisations see this as imposing costs on business. If approached in the right way, far from imposing cost, it can contribute to profitability.
Income Generation
Not directly responsible for generating income but for ensuring that the various sources of income generated by our other activities are appropriate and in line with the objectives and principles of the Chambers
